Another Chance Initiative
We provide another chance to live and thrive for victims of domestic violence and abuse by providing a safe haven for them to reclaim their stability through a unique model of care, rehabilitation, therapy, counseling and conflict resolution.
Our Vision
To create a world of safety and social justice, where Domestic Violence and Abuse is a rarity and victims know they have an option and a voice.
Our Mission
We provide another chance to live and thrive for victims of domestic violence and abuse by providing a safe haven for them to reclaim their stability through a unique model of care, rehabilitation, therapy, counseling and conflict resolution.
Our 3-point agenda is to:
- Provide a safe shelter to flee to
- Offer therapy to help them heal from the trauma
- Award financial grants and skills acquisition programmes to help them rebuild their lives
Domestic violence has been defined by women’s aid UK as “as an incident or pattern of incidents of controlling, coercive, threatening, degrading and violent behaviour, including sexual violence, in the majority of cases by a partner or ex-partner, but also by a family member or carer. “
Domestic Violence and abuse is not limited to physical abuse alone, it can also be emotional, psychological, financial/economical and sexual.
Abuse is a CHOICE someone else makes in order to maintain power and control over another person. Abuse has been made to linger especially in Africa due to religious and cultural beliefs and as a result, many victims are dying and others suffer great mental health illness.
Another chance initiative by FFA believes that the covenant of life is superior to the covenant of marriage. We therefore seek to create awareness and educate people about what constitutes abuse as many people don’t even know what abuse is.
